On January 5, the "Guangdong-Meng Rural Revitalization Action" science and technology service team's special research and technology-matching activity was launched in Qiaotou Town, Yingde City, Qingyuan. Led by Prof. Zang Ying'an, chair of the Zhi-Meng (China Democratic League) branch of Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, a team of top experts from multiple fields went deep into the frontline of Yingde's meat pigeon industry as science and technology commissioners, assisting rural revitalization with high-end intellectual science and technology support. Going Deep into the Industry Frontline, Accurately Identifying Needs
The expert team went straight to the industry frontline, conducting on-site research at the Shuangrun Pigeon breeding cooperative and the Baige breeding base of Gedu Capital Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. in Yingde. In the production workshops and breeding sheds, the experts carefully observed the growth status of the pigeon flocks and breeding facilities, and conducted in-depth exchanges with the farm technicians on key links such as breed selection, feed nutrition, daily management and disease prevention and control, accurately identifying the industry's current situation and needs.
Special Seminar: Discussing Industry Upgrading
After the field investigation, a special seminar focused on industry upgrading—"From Present to Future: Technology-Driven Upgrading of Yingde's Meat Pigeon Industry Chain"—was held at the Qiaotou Town government. Shen Jie, Party Secretary of the College of Animal Science and Technology of Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, together with representatives from the governments of Qingyuan, Yingde and Qiaotou Town at all levels and representatives from government, industry, academia and research, all attended.
The seminar was lively. Combining their respective professional fields, the expert team put forward forward-looking and operable suggestions on key issues facing Yingde's meat pigeon industry, such as comprehensive disease prevention and control, breeding optimization and efficient reproduction technology, feed "antibiotic substitution" and drug-resistance management, intelligent breeding equipment application, brand building and market expansion, and full industry-chain integrated upgrading. Government and enterprise representatives actively asked questions and interacted, jointly outlining a clear path for the high-quality development of Yingde's meat pigeon industry empowered by technology. After the seminar, the expert team also went to Yingde Tianshun Pigeon breeding cooperative for face-to-face discussions, extending technical guidance to grassroots production units and accurately responding to the specific concerns and technical confusion of farmers.
